    I live and study in Galway now, but am from Birmingham. I have a large family (5 sisters and 1 brother and my dog – Flash) and try to visit when I can, I call home at least every other day.

    As Secretary of the NUIG Radio Society I help put on events and make notes. I am going to be part of (another) 24 hour takeover for charity on Flirt Fm on the 9th of March.

    I use nano-wires on glass to make a network. When you put a voltage through it pathways form and break differently, creating some cool effects, which sometimes look like the types of things that can happen in a brain.

    I get to work with a lot of cool equipment, one of my favourite is the SEM. It is a microscope that can get images at really high magnification. I use it to see what I have made and if it changes after tests.

    I have too many ideas that I don’t think I could do enough justice and so I will be donating the money to those that have a full time job in communication and outreach activities.

    I’d like to see small projects that could be used for school visits and also at the Galway Science and Technology Day.
